Trek, Giant, Cannondale, Specialized and similar high quality bicycles available for the same amount of money you will spend at a department store. These are a much better value, and will last a whole lot longer. Bikes that are several hundred dollars more new don't come close to these bikes in quality. Most are mountain bikes, but I have road/hybrid tires that I will swap onto them for free if that's what you are looking for.
There are adds for each individual bike with all the specifics.
Regarding pricing:
If you don't want to spend a lot of money, but you want a bike that will last, you want to look at bikes that are older then 2005. After 2005 most of the manufacturers went over to China and the quality is not what it used to be. Yes, you're going to sacrifice modern conveniences such as disk brakes, but if you're not racing you're not going to need them anyway. A quality older part will last you much longer then a cheap new one. Not to mention they're easier to maintain.
Your basic bikes without suspension run on average $100-150, add front suspension to the mix and you're looking at $150-200. For disc brakes you're looking at $200 on up. These bikes are great for the occasional ride around town or if you want something dependable on the street.
Higher end bikes with racing quality components, stronger rims, lighter frames, better tires, ect start at about $200 and go up from there. Tack on another $100+ for full suspension. I try to be fair about my prices and provide a good value.
Men's & Women's bikes $200 on up. To see more info on each bike check my other adds.
